I love you. Please marry my ego. Do it now.

Lol... Uuhhmmm... This is moving a bit too fast for me...

But seriously the comic is perfect. I don't notice any flaws.

I love how you made her actually a curvy woman with some meat on her bones :D It shows that not all women have to be twigs with large breasts. Thank you for the realistic artwork and it's wonderful in story so far! I'm subscribing!

Thanks! And a certain degree of realism is important to me. Kathryn is not a superpowered lady who can do big things with thin muscles. She needs arms that can wield a sword and hips/thighs that can hold her while she does it.

I used to be a late-'90s image clone. Thanks to my art teacher Todd Herman, Kathryn looks like a real woman.

She's so real she's even WEARING FLATS.

Certainly the most professional comic I have seen here so far! Excellent work!

Wow, that's a great compliment. I try really hard to keep it as "pro" as possible. Thanks for the sub, and I hope you enjoy the rest!

Holy hot damn. Had to comment on this one. You have a knack for backgrounds and scenery that I envy greatly.

Your style reminds me of all the great comics I read growing up in the 90's. Gonna watch this one closely.

I have the memory of a gnat sometimes...

Thank you so much for saying so. I'm a big '90s comics fan. This book was partially inspired by Witchblade and the Gargoyles comic from Marvel. And Shi.

I'm not a big fan of drawing buildings either, but I can do it decently. MacKnight Tower is about as fun as it gets.

That wasn't in the script, but I got pretty good at drawing lightning bolts in Photoshop and went NUTS.:D

Thank you, I enjoyed working on the dynamic city angle here. And I'm pretty happy with how these colors came out.:)

And here we have the first major sign that this IS NOT OUR WORLD. So far, the things we'be seen could possibly be explained away, but a big, magical, glowing sign? In Vegas, maybe, but not NYC.

And we get another mystery: who is THIS guy?

So far, this is pretty much everything a first issue should be. And yes, if I was currently in the position to buy vomics and this were on the shelf, I would get it monthly. That bit, though, is kind of a spoiler from the page by page commentary point of view...

Actually (and this is long and gets mildly confusing): Julia flies around for two pages making credits appear to the audience, but not in-universe. The title/logo does appear in-universe, as Julia is intermittently psychic and thus already knows what the superhero team that hasn't formed yet will be called. Then it fades/evaporates over the rest of the page. Most people in NYC will never know that they've even seen it in the sky, thanks to the Cloakers, whose job it is to make the extraordinary immediately fade from view and memory of the average person.

...it's that simple!

(MacKnight Tower, the big red-windowed building, is affected by the Cloaker field; it looks like a normal blue/grey office tower with an upright star to most non-meta people. Which I guess means I think all of my readers have superpowers.)
ProfEtheric 29th Dec 2015, 12:51 AM
Thinhs get mildly confusing and the answers long? Yeah, THAT sounds a bit familiar. As in been there, done that...

I do appreciate the extra info, though. It's the thing that separates webcomics from their print brethren. :)

Now I get it. I am reading this comic a second time, and the second time I read this page I realize that one character is looking at the word 'eternal' and read it backward, so it looks like 'janrete'. I guess I am slow! At the same time, I wonder if other readers are just as slow. If the first character explained the mistake to the second character, the situation would probably be more clear to the reader...
