So, I made James shirtless because the girls had spent too much time being sexy (for plot points, but still), and I needed to balance everything out with some man-nipples. Man-nipples were not in my scripts. You're welcome.
Issue #2 ends here. I am taking a 1-week break, with comics to resume Wed. 09/12 (a new cover to issue #2 will be posted next week, but who really cares about that?).
Late? What? Sorry -- I was a little sicker than I thought. Not serious, mind, but persistent lethargy. And I was already drained. Still -- a full issue in 3 months. Personal best for me. Onward and upward. James, in his frustration at not being able to save Julia alone and then being made to leave, is being intentionally reductionistically sexist -- out of character, btw -- but tough Kathryn will have none of it. Was my thought process.
And thanks, panel three is a visual gag I've had in mind since the first 284(!)-page draft of this script 6 years ago. It was fun to finally draw it.
It finally made the transition from this scene to the next one work, which it never had at the script level, even after 13(!) full edit passes -- Erica on the next (story) page is a reminder that Kathryn will, indeed, stab people.
