I will give a prize of some sort to the person who correctly guesses/identifies the 4 pictures in the back of Kathryn's office.

And if you look at the placement of dialogue on the previous page, you will realize the art above Robért and the art above the typewriter (not traced, BTW) were not ready until this page.

I traced the BG in panel 7 from page 21 and then realized SON OF A BITCH, now I have to draw the things anyway. Grrr. I was pressed for time and they are the size of the postage stamps that postage stamps use, so I only did roughs. But they're good roughs.

I like it roughs.

Soup Sock,

the thought kinda creeped me out for a sec. I have vivid imaginations. hope you never plan on drawing this "body growing from neck" o_o

...but then again it might be cool...I realized this comic doesn't have too much blood-spurting action.

Yeah, I don't like blood and gore. It was hard for me to get through Kathryn's self-destructive scene where Smiley cuts off her arms.

Honestly, I don't remember my anatomy well enough to draw a body growing back properly. Which is why Kathryn's arms grow back as glowing lightforms that solidify into limbs. I think that's cooler anyway.

I love the subtle changes in facial expression from panel to panel...your characters feel very much alive. :)

Thank you! I try really hard to keep things "animated" and natural like that, in spite of how much I sprite to almost make deadlines (and for effect as well).

so she has the power of swamp thing. I saw in an old comic where another sole-less swamp thing grew from the original arm.

Actually, she (and the othger immortals like her) regrow from whatever the biggest chunk of brain is.

That's why the body Robert mentions here (that Erica and Nicky investigated on pages 9 and 10) didn't come back to life -- something attacked Kathryn and ate her face and brain, and she regrew from inside that.

We'll see what in a later story.

This page mystified me so badly I went back and read page eleven again, to see the body without a face; and then I read the comments. In the comments, the author explains, and I quote:

"Actually, she (and the othger immortals like her) regrow from whatever the biggest chunk of brain is.

That's why the body Robert mentions here (that Erica and Nicky investigated on pages 9 and 10) didn't come back to life -- something attacked Kathryn and ate her face and brain, and she regrew from inside that.

Unquote.

Okay, I will concede that the page and the story make sense after the reader goes through the comments looking for footnotes. The question arises, then -- are the comments a necessary part of the text? Will the story always be published with the comments section? Will it be possible to publish the story any other way? Or, should the creators find a way to include this information inside the actual text of the comic page itself? These are questions for many webcomics, not just this one; and they go to the heart and the future of the industry itself.
