Ha, I learned to do that as a storytelling trick to make people want to "turn the page". Will Eisner or some such. I doubt I'd have come up with it myself.

A good clear page here. The bad guy faded away with a smile like the Chesire Cat from Alice In Wonderland. Did he take the hands with him when he left? If not, what was the point of the trap?

Now I understand. Is this the same policeman from the opening scene? That would be more clear if he said "Artemis -- why aren't you dead? I thought I shot you in the part just now!" Or something to tie the scenes together. That is just my thought.
