SwordCat Writes | A Digital Letter Column

Hi again. Your friendly neighborhood Caley Tibbittz Collopy has returned with a new page, yay.

I had to learn SO MANY new things about Photoshop to pull this one off...

...but James Barrington's glitter tee FINALLY looks like I see it in my head.

There are icicle brushes; it's a good thing.

The SwordCat Knights Patreon page offers a peek at behind-the-scenes art and also offers a lot of cool rewards: early access to new pages, original sketches, NSFW pinups, and a lot more. Please take a look and consider pledging.

Next up: Issue #7 cover! We're FINALLY hitting act 3 of this big intro story -- and, as you can see, things are about to get mildly insane.

I've re-revamped the SwordCat Princess Patreon page -- it is once again a haberdashery of all things NSFW about SwordCat Knights. Full-HBO and beyond. I'll make Game of Thrones look like Sunday school.

You're welcome.

There's the school of thought that Hell doesn't have to be all firey. Absolute zero cold would be just as bad if not worse.

I mean, we've all seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, right?

Funny you should mention them, as in my own estimation, this may be the most Joss Whedon-y moment I've ever written.
Shan 10th Aug 2016, 10:59 AM
It was a deliberate choice. The nexus between you, Joss Whedon, and Buffy and Angel have long since been well known.

Good one.

Thanks! And it better be -- I thought this would be a bit of cheat effort-wise, so much of it being a public domain photo of NYC. I didn't realize going into it how MANY BLOODY LAYERS it would take to realize the midsummer's winter.

Worth it in that even for someone who's never seen a single page of this and knows no backstory, it's a great sight gag (they can even get quite a lot of an idea about the characters in the first panel with no prior knowledge).

Interesting observations. I've been waiting SO LONG to do this gag -- Robért's line was in the first draft of the script 10 years ago, and survived unaltered through every single edit pass.

Now how many freeze thaw cycles before one gives in?

69. The answer is always 69. Unless you're a Star Trek nerd, and then 47 is also acceptable.
jamie59 9th Aug 2016, 7:49 PM
But the answer is 42

Really good work on the foreground and and background of the city. That's hard to do. Nicely done, Tibbittz.
